The faculty advisors of Honors School are all excellent teachers invited from Jiangnan University, offering students with instructions in their academic development and life planning. The faculty advisors are all masters in professional education and research, and they are well experienced in teaching and supervising students, with a high sense of responsibility and conscientious performance in obligations as advisors. In addition, they generally hold senior professional posts or have gained doctor degrees abroad. The faculty advisors are in non-tenure track with an employment term of 5 years.

Nowdays there are 203 faculty advisors led by Academicians, winners of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and Yangtse River scholars, which ensures the personalized cultivation and growth for students. The School holds irregular advisor meetings and visits for the purpose of enhancing students to exchange and communicate with advisors.

Students of Honors School can make a (two-way) choice for advisors in the first semester, and the advisors will regularly talk with students, instruct them in scientific researches and attend student saloons to provide guidance for students’ learning attitudes and career plans. The students will regularly report their psychological and academic status to advisors, invite their advisors to attend their extra-curricular activities, and actively take part in their advisors’ scientific researches to experience the personal charm and academic qualifications of their advisors. The communication between students and advisors will be recorded as the criteria for the evaluation of the students.
