Elimination Mechanism
The elimination of Honors School students will be carried out once every semester. The Spring semester elimination is based on whether the students have make-up examinations or have acted against the university rules and regulations; the Autumn semester elimination depends on the students’ performance in the last academic year; the senior students elimination is based on the verification of course completion, mainly referring to the performance of students in the graduation program. Those who have been eliminated will not enjoy the preferent treatments of Honors School students any more.
Those who meet any of the following conditions will be eliminated from Honors School:
1. The evaluation result in Honors School is lower than 60 scores for the current academic year.
2. Those whose GPA ranks lower the grade top 30% in the origin major, or the comprehensive evaluation ranks lower than top 40% in the origin class. Senior students can ignore this article.
3. Having a record of make-up examinations.
4. Violating the university rules and regulations which leads to serious warning or more serious punishment.
5. Obtain an “Average” or lower class in the defense of the graduation project (thesis).
In case students who had met elimination conditions wish to keep their identity of Honors School students, and they must satisfy one of the 1-4 articles and article 5 can submit a personal application. Their status as Honors School students can be maintained since the application has been confirmed by the Administration Committee of Honors School or has gained special approval from the Dean of Honors School. However, the treatments they can enjoy shall be adjusted in accordance with related university rules and regulations.
1. Having won rewards in provincial or higher-level influential competitions.
2. Having won a provincial or higher-level honorary title or other special honor widely acknowledged by the society.
3. Having published articles (first author) in provincial or higher-class journals; or have gained national patents of invention.
4. Having gained qualification certificates in related fields that are difficult to gain.
5. Those who have satisfied any of the above requirements shall, at the same time, their own advisors as well as other two professors directly related with them (such as the students’ own professional mentor, innovative project instructors, class teachers or course teachers etc.) offer their real-name recommendations
