Honors School Holding a Triathlon Match
The 2017 Honors School Triathlon Match was launched at the east gate of University Library at 1:30 pm 21st May. BAI Bing, the Sub-Youth League Secretary of Honors School, attended the opening ceremony and made a brief speech.
This triathlon match comprised three events including cycling, quality development and micro marathon. After the host announced the match rules, the participants began warming up for the “ribbon relay”. The members of each team cooperated to bounce the ball and move forward in difficulty with the ribbon winding around them which had made them disoriented. After finishing the warm up, the participants cycled to the mission site to draw lots for their tasks. They overcame the obstacles to arrive at the answer to the riddle, and finally completed their challenge.
The quality development aims to test the mutual understanding of the team members and their tacit cooperation. At the hottest time of the day, even a small scale of experience training had made the participants out of breath and sweat all over.
Micro-marathon was the highlight of the triathlon match, and was the only event that would be counted into the individual competition. All participants tried their best in the run which began at the University Quality Development Base and ended at the east gate of the University Library. Although the micro-marathon covered only three kilometers, it was long enough for participants to race each other. As they arrived at the end line in succession, some of them, dripping with sweat, could not wait to inquire of the race staff for their performance.
When the participants were still in the race, the match staff had already prepared fresh and delicious fruits at the east gate of the University Library. Participants having arrived at the end line enjoyed the fruits while discussing about the race. With a short break, the participants took part in the “5. 21” special activity which served as a little surprise. If any participant holding half part of a poem could find the other “partner”, he/she would win a well-designed little gift.
The triathlon match held by Honors School came to an end with the exciting awarding ceremony. BAI Bing and TANG Zhenni, Chairwomen of Honors School Students Union, awarded medals and certificates to the winning individuals and teams, and encouraged all participants of this match never to forget the uniting and fighting spirit gained in the competition.
